From 1 March 2027 a gas hot water system that reaches the end of its life in an existing Victorian home must be replaced with an efficient electric system such as a heat pump.

Solar Victoria hot water rebate $1,000, or up to $1,400 for an eligible locally made unit (income cap $150,000)
